Hi, I’m Takeeyia Fowlkes, Founder and Owner of The Necessity Spa.

I am a Licensed Massage Therapist, Advanced Esthetician, and Manicurist with over a decade of experience in the wellness and beauty industry. My professional training includes graduating from Brown Aveda Institute (2014), Cleveland Institute of Medical Massage (2015), and Raphael’s School of Beauty Culture (2018). I also complete ongoing continuing education to remain current with industry standards, techniques, and best practices.

Before opening The Necessity Spa, I worked in several franchise spa environments. Those experiences provided valuable insight into spa operations, guest expectations, and service delivery while also shaping how I built this business. I learned what worked, what didn’t, and what I wanted to do differently. From those lessons, The Necessity Spa was created with intention, quality, and genuine care, always placing the guest experience at the center.

My specialties are custom massage therapy, skin-health-focused skincare treatments, dermaplaning, and Brazilian waxing, with a strong focus on education, communication, and individualized care. I believe effective treatments begin with listening to the body, understanding individual needs, and creating personalized service plans that support long-term wellness—not just temporary relief.

So often, we spend our time caring for work, children, spouses, and everyone else—while placing our own well-being last. At The Necessity Spa, each service is thoughtfully customized to help you slow down, reset, and pour back into yourself because self-care isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity.

I’ve learned that the most meaningful work happens when passion, skill, and intention align. This belief reflects the principle found in Proverbs 18:16: “A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before great men.”
